And I took up the challenge over at Hilda’s Lotstodo

I played with gold and black acrylic paint, a dose of crackle and a slap or two of varnish. The background paper I used was a bit porous so the alcohol inks tended to ‘bleed’ a bit after being dropped and dragged and the images (ala freebie) I printed onto a transparency.

1. My radio is the first thing that goes on in the morning and the last thing that goes

off at night! There may be a bit of TV in between!
2. I read two newspapers a day! The Times in the morning

and The Star in the late afternoon.
3. I sincerely believe that trees and plants have spirits. When I dead-head roses or remove spent heads

on flowers, I always ask the spirit to leave and when I’m done I ask them to come back.
4. I don’t kill spiders! I just help them on their way to their outside habitat!

How Rude!!!!! ….

…..As I was trying to say ‘Tis very …quiet in Blogland’ Blogger had a hissy fit AND unceremoniously dumped me in the bog AND then Internet got itself totally tangled in its own web AND closed all the doors AND I couldn’t get in AND I had a hissy fit AND hit the off button! AND then Internet sulked for ages AND wouldn’t let me in AND gave me messages, like, check your connection, have you entered the correct address! LOL I am very well connected thank you very much and my Favourites doesn’t miss-spell!

So, now you know! I wasn’t abducted by aliens or washed away by the flash floods that are happening in our jacuzzi/bar areas because workmen didn’t seal the new gutters they put in AARRRRRR!

So I'll light my way to bed

'Tis very .....

Sooty Fun and …….

…… a Challenge!

Hilda over at Lots to do challenge throws out a challenge on a weekly basis, and this past challenge was using a key or keys.

This is mine!

Please note Miss Hilda, I made the deadline!!

And I also played with the Soot technique.

I didn’t burn myself and I didn’t set fire to my craft room and I had great fun making this. I’m still playing with ideas on how I’m going to use it or on what!?!?!

And then I played some more with shaving foam and 'el cheepo' acrylic paint! Messy but I had a great time.

I do realise that what I am only discovering now, is soooo old hat, to a lot of crafting ladies out there. Please bear with me and celebrate my new discoveries with me.

OK so …….

.….. I missed the bus to Hilda's and her News challenge.

Yes, dear, but you still missed the bus!!!

Ummm my excuses are:- someone tied my shoes laces together and I fell. No, that doesn’t work because we are in the height of our summer and closed shoes are so not practical.
With this heat the sweat dripped into my eyes and I couldn’t read the ‘deadline’. No, doesn’t work either because ladies don’t sweat, they glow! Unless of course if you live in Africa and let me tell you, you sweat! Lady or not! If you don’t then you must be in possession of a high tech internal thermostat or be from another planet! No plausible excuse, so here’s my effort!

I have it on good authority that it's windy and wild in Britain and bleeding freezing in the States! So here's some good old South African warmth and sunshine!

L & R Challenge ..

.... I don't know where Linda and Rosie find their ideas !! This week it's Words and this is mine.

I decided on these words because this is really something I need to work on in my life. I keep trying to change things or something, I really can’t. I cannot change the sun from rising in the East, each and every morning. Try as I may, IT IS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN! How many times do I have to hit a solid wall before I realise, nothing, absolutely nothing I do can change this fact.

Stay cool or warm, depending on which hemi you are perched and thank you for taking the time to visit with me!

2009 Challenges ….

…… oh my, this year has well and truly started with some lovely challenges. Jean and Malcolm at Crafty Individuals' challenge actually started last year (to give slow coaches like me living faaaaar south) the chance to get, their get together, together! Jean and Malcolm, my ATCs are in the post! Let’s hope that Postman Pat has not yet retired or eloped to the South of France.

And then the lovely Hilda who also has a challenge spot right here !!

This is my take on Hilda's Time Challenge.

And then we have Rosie and Linda who come up with delightful challenges week after week.

I don’t know how you two do it! You’re both so special and talented. Sorry that I had to pass on the ‘charmed’ challenge.

I don’t make New Year Resolutions, full stop! The simple reason is that I have all the good intentions but then, Along Comes Life, and the wheels fall off, and I land up feeling like I have let myself down, plus others. I am aiming to get rid of the ‘self-imposed guilt feeling’ and will be doing what I can manage AND being honest with myself in recognising my limitations and extensions.
